‘POWER OF VIDEO’ TO BE HARNESSED AT UPCOMING CONFERENCE
Curious bystanders at Belfast’s Bullitt Hotel were treated to ‘art in action’ on Friday afternoon as they caught a glimpse of this year’s final speaker line-up for the Power of Video Conference on 26th Mat via a live art installation by local street artist Dean Kane of Visual Waste. The Power of Video conference is set to return to Belfast on two weeks’ time with a new venue, Belfast Cathedral, a new festival format and an exciting line-up of activities and speakers to celebrate the rising power of online video.
This year delegates are in for a treat as the festival format will offer something for guests of all ages and skill sets, from up-and-coming content creators to experienced filmmakers, businesses interested in harnessing the power of video for their own marketing and brand purposes, and local fans of the high-profile YouTube and social media stars and influencers scheduled to take to the stage this year.
Event organisers and filmmakers Billy May and Damien Gallagher of Speed Motion Films joined up with Deane Kane to announce the final star-studded line-up including hugely popular YouTuber Devinsupertramp who has amassed more than 4.5 million followers on his adventure vlogs; world-renowned director and filmmaker Philip Bloom, who has worked for Lucasfilm, CNN, Sky and the BBC, among other prestigious credits; comedian, author and social media star Arron Crascall; and Ireland’s own Cian Twomey. Conference favourites Zack Nelson from Jerry Rig Everything and Dan and Lincoln Markham from What’s Inside will also make a return for 2017 as well as one of the first SnapChat celebrities-turned-YouTuber Shonduras.
“We are delighted to have joined up with a forward-thinking local artist who understands how important video can be to his brand,” said Damien Gallagher, Power of Video organiser, at the event. “Dean has utilised video to show off his breath-taking art pieces and reach a wider audience, making a name for him across Ireland and further afield as a truly innovative street artist. We are so pleased that he has agreed to unveil our final line-up in such a creative way, proving again that there’s to limit on the power of video.”
Ahead of this huge event, next Wednesday the content creators will be whisked off to capture the very best of the stunning Northern Ireland coastline via the Power of Video fleet, powered by Charles Hurst.
“We’re delighted to be the official transport partners of The Power of Video,” said Christine Gibney, Charles Hurst Group. “As a brand, the Charles Hurst Group are huge advocates of the Power of Video for marking and brand awareness purposes, and we are so excited for these world-renowned video creators to experience our Power of Video branded fleet of SUVs as they get to experience this stunning part of the world.”
Thursday will see a series of hands- on Masterclasses taking place in the intimate, Baltic Bar at Bullitt Hotel. Guests will get up-close-and-personal through expert talks from world-renowned filmmakers Philip Bloom and Devin Super Tramp, who will offer expertise on brand creativity and making the most from video content. Other experts include video pro Peter McKinnon, offering skilled advice on ways to step up filmmaking, and Facebook video expert Peter McNicholl who will showcase how local businesses can best utilise the Facebook video tool to grow and develop their brand.
In addition to this year’s day-long conference in Belfast Cathedral, hosted again by David Meade, guests can also take advantage of a larger carnival atmosphere including interactive exhibitions, meet-and-greets, a street food festival beside the Cathedral, and other satellite events across Belfast including Northern Ireland’s first international professional Drone Race held in T13 in Titanic Quarter.
“We are so excited for the upcoming Power of Video Event, and are so plead with the high calibre of speakers who have agreed to visit Northern Ireland and speak about their own passions for video and filmmaking,” said Billy May, Organiser, Power of Video. “Last year’s conference, highlighted by a talk from YouTuber of the Year Casey Neistat, Ireland’s own Cian Twomey and hosted by David Meade among other guests, acted as a springboard for an incredibly strong platform as we continue to advocate for the power of video content, whether this is used for brand promotion or as a means to communicate personal messages between individuals.”
